Moving to and Finding Furnished Athens Apartments

The cost of living is lower in Athens compared to other European capitals, although finding work can be hard as an expat. Greek legislation requires that foreigners produce documents from their sponsoring company that determine that they were more eligible for this position than other Greek citizens. However as a student in Athens, there is plenty to learn from and explore. If you love history, good food and culture, Athens will entertain you.

When moving to Athens, expect sun and hot summers as it is a mediterranean city. Locals typically leave the city and go to beaches along the ‘Apollo Coast’ whenever possible. Yet be aware not all beaches are free, some you will have to pay entrance. Beaches like this usually have cafes, toilets, showers, ball games and more.

Despite the recent modernizing of the area, Omonia Square is the oldest square in Athens and is considered one of the centers of the city. Unfortunately, Greece’s economic crash caused an influx economic hardship around the area.
