Moving to and Finding Furnished Athens Apartments

The cost of living is lower in Athens compared to other European capitals, although finding work can be hard as an expat. Greek legislation requires that foreigners produce documents from their sponsoring company that determine that they were more eligible for this position than other Greek citizens. However as a student in Athens, there is plenty to learn from and explore. If you love history, good food and culture, Athens will entertain you.

When moving to Athens, expect sun and hot summers as it is a mediterranean city. Locals typically leave the city and go to beaches along the ‘Apollo Coast’ whenever possible. Yet be aware not all beaches are free, some you will have to pay entrance. Beaches like this usually have cafes, toilets, showers, ball games and more.

Renovated Furnished Apartments Athens

There are not many cities in the world as historic or storied as Athens – with many buildings still standing from thousands of years ago. That doesn't mean that you will have to live as the Ancient Greeks did though! The vast majority of buildings, even in the historic center have been renovated and restored to modern tastes and specifications, whilst often still retaining the charm in the building's exterior. It is common for rental apartments in Athens to come fully furnished as well, enabling you to settle into your new home as fast as possible.

Cost of Apartments Athens

As in all cities, prices in Athens fluctuate dependent on the size of the apartment and of course the area that you want to live in. Luckily, as major European cities go, Athens can be very affordable – especially with the financial crisis, and rents have dipped a little in recent years. If you are looking to live in the historical area or an area with active nightlife, you can expect to pay between €400-700 for a one-bedroom, in the range of €700-1000 for a 2-bedroom and upwards of €1200 for a three-bedroom apartment.
