Coventry has long had an unfair reputation of being known as just a car manufacturing city as well as having the infamy of being almost destroyed in the blitz of World War 2. Nevertheless, Coventry has come out of its shell in recent years and has begun to spin a charm of its own. Apartments in Coventry are perfectly placed to explore everything the city itself has to offer, but also the West Midlands itself.

England's second city of Birmingham is just down the road and there are historical delights such as Warwick Castle just a short drive away. Apartments in Coventry are relatively affordable compared to other big cities in the region, and this is bringing in a lot of young professionals and creatives that see renting a room in Coventry as being a great deal with a relatively blank canvas of a city to play with.

Types of Accommodations in Coventry

Apartments by Districts Coventry

As seemingly is the case with all young professionals, the hot spots and trendy locations all seem to be in the city center. City apartments, whilst being smaller and more expensive are in the thick of the action here, and whilst the city, that was reconstructed after World War 2, is a bit of a concrete jungle – that doesn’t mean that they’re isn't dozens of new hotspots ready to be found. A lot of families seem to live out of the city, in the leafier suburbs of Coventry. Westwood Heath is a great option, here with acres of woodland in the area and with lots of new developments in recent years, there is plentry of housing and rental opportunities.

Flats in Earlsdon

If you are looking for an affordable place to live near the city of Coventry, then it is worth searching for flats in Earlsdon. This suburb is just a mile South West from the city and connected with multiple bus routes as well as being close enough to walk to. Its affordability means that it is very popular with students from both Warwick and Coventry Universities, however there hasn't been significant development recently and as such most flats for rent in Earlson will be in existing houses, divided up into seperate flats. The area is mostly residential too, and apart from a small high street, the majority of the nightlife is in Coventry itself.

Flats in Radford

The area of Radford is another cheap and cheerful suburb of Coventry that bargain hunters may want to keep their eyes on. You can defiantly get a lot for your money here, and while you can rent a 3-bedroom terraced house for around $1000 a month, if you are set on renting a flat in Radford, you will be able to find 2-bedroom properties for around $750 a month. As is the case with a lot of the suburbs surrounding Coventry, aside from residences and a small collection of locally owned shops and businesses, there isn't a whole amount to do in Radford. Luckily the city is close!

Coundon Flats

The suburb of Coundon stretches for about 2.5 miles from the North West corner of Coventry city itself and although it was originally a village, since its inclusion in Greater Coventry, the small town has grown a lot and is home to a lot of Coventry's inhabitants. Flats in Coundon follow the trend of its neighboring areas by offering a lot of affordable accommodation. For example, a 2 bedroom flat here will again rent for around the $700 a month mark. The flip side here is again there isn’t much in Coundon in terms of nightlife and entertainment – but with Coventry so close, most locals are not worried.

Student Accommodation Coventry

Consistently voted into the top cities in Europe when it comes to student living, Coventry is very much a student down – keeping it affordable but also giving it a very youthful and fun vibe. Students from the University of Coventry and the University of Warwick often choose to live in the city and as such finding student accommodation in Coventry isn't too difficult. If you are looking for student flats and housing in Coventry itself, then a good bet might be Earlsdon, with the largest student population in the city there is always something going on. If you attend the University of Warwick, a slightly more expensive option would be the nearby town of Leamington Spa.

Transportation in Coventry

Public transport in Coventry, means one thing and one thing only. Buses. Although there is only one means of transport here instead of multiple, that doesn’t mean that places are hard to get too. The city runs a whole fleet of buses and they can get you anywhere you need to go. Tickets are not expensive and you can buy day and week passes at once to make it cheaper.
